Job summary

Greater Unity Adult Services is seeking a Residential Direct Support Professional (DSP) for evening and overnight shifts to support adults with IDD and mental health challenges in a residential setting. You will help clients develop life skills, follow ISPs, assist with ADLs, and promote community involvement.

The role requires compassion, reliability, strong communication, a Virginia driver's license, and ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, or behavioral disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation and proof of insurance.
• Ability to pass required background and registry checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support based on Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
• Assist with ADLs, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
• Teach independent living skills and encourage personal growth.
• Administer medications and prepare meals.
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities.
• Complete daily documentation and progress notes.
• Implement behavior support strategies and assist during crisis situations when needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment.
• Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Monday through Wednesday 11pm- 8am & Sunday 8pm- 8am

Tuesday, Thursday 11pm-8am & Saturdays 8pm-8am
