Job summary

Johnson County Government, through its Developmental Supports (JCDS), is seeking a Direct Support Professional for residential services. You will assist individuals with personal care, monitor health, and support daily living in a compassionate, safety‑minded environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record; one year in human services preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record are required.
• One year of experience working in a human services field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides, assists with, or coaches individuals on personal care needs with limited supervision; provides crisis interventions, including physical intervention and restraint to ensure safety; monitors and/or administers medication as prescribed; monitors and documents mental and physical condition of individuals.
• Teaches, coaches and provides guidance and support on various skills to enable productive lives of individuals; assists individuals and family members to identify strategies or treatment options and participates in developing and modifying plans to regain independence.
• Organizes and participates in meetings related to care coordination; completes documentation for direct services provided to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Transports individuals receiving services to appointments, activities, and/or work.
