Center for Life Management (CLM) offers comprehensive outpatient mental health services, including a Residential Housing Program providing 24/7 supportive housing as an alternative to hospitalization during acute psychiatric episodes.

The Residential Counselor role involves encouraging housing guests towards recovery through Intentional Peer Support services.

We are hiring two part-time positions (15 hours/week), each requiring weekend availability with the following schedules:

• Day Shift: Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Evening Shift: Saturdays and Sundays, 3:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Major Functional Areas and Duties

• Provide understanding of guests' experiences, including symptoms, medication effects, and recovery processes.
• Inspire hope, build trust, demonstrate empathy, and support recovery goals.
• Promote active participation in treatment and self-help programs.
• Offer peer support and one-on-one assistance in residence and community settings.
• Assess and facilitate higher levels of care when needed.
• Apply Trauma-Informed Care principles and identify trauma histories.
• Connect guests with community mental health resources.
• Maintain contact post-crisis to ensure ongoing support.
• Document services timely and accurately.
• Participate in meetings and committees as required.
• Protect guest confidentiality and rights.
• Follow agency policies, standards, and ethics.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent considered with relevant experience.
• Self-knowledge of mental health management and recovery (at least one year).
• Strong belief in community living and support for individuals with mental illness.
• Willingness to pursue certifications such as Peer Specialist or Recovery Coach.
• Sound clinical judgment and proficient computer skills.
• Effective documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Work may involve sitting, standing, stairs, lifting up to 30lbs, and reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance.
