A mental health service provider in Newport, NH is seeking Awake Overnight Direct Care Counselors to provide support and supervision for individuals in specialized residential homes. The role focuses on aiding participants in personal responsibility, social skills, and medication management within a supportive environment. Ideal candidates will have an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience with two years in a related field. NFI North is seeking Awake Overnight Direct Care Counselors for each of our Specialized Residential Homes in Newport NH. There will be two (2) sites in Newport with five (5) individuals living at each of our Specialty Homes.

These new programs will augment our existing continuum of care in large part due to our continued growth in serving this valuable population in NH. The Agency has a progressive reputation of providing comprehensive clinical, nursing, medical, case management, vocational, educational and peer support services and life skills to adults living with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) or Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and/or complex medical needs. The participants residing in these treatment facilities are seeking independent home-like living.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of participants, providing ongoing support, guidance and role modeling.
• Facilitate participant improvement in the areas of personal responsibility, social skills, medication monitoring and administration, community living skills and behavior.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred with two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with participant population.
