Job summary

Helton House Inc. is seeking a Residential Coordinator to oversee assigned residential house locations and collaborate with the Director of Residential Services to implement program curricula and activities for individuals supported.

This role ensures required documentation and billing are completed and supervises direct support professionals to maintain quality services. The position requires coordinating assessments, treatment plans, and daily operations, while ensuring safety of home,

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a human services related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Computer experience and proficiency required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to lead a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and supervision to all direct support professionals.
  • Implement approved assessments and individual service and/or treatment plans.
  • Overall management of the houses, ensuring coverage and supervision of all individuals and staff, and providing temporary coverage as needed.
  • Provide support and guidance to the individuals in the home to ensure that the home, appliances, vehicles and the equipment are safe and operational.
  • Complete and review daily, monthly and quarterly documentation. Plan and coordinate meaningful events for individuals.
  • Know, understand and follow the day support handbook, DBHDS/DMAS regulations, human rights and company policies.
  • Ensure that the fundamental rights of each individual in the home are protected.
  • Assist with training new hires and with annual training requirements for staff.
  • Respond to medical, behavioral and other emergencies appropriately and in a calm manner.
  • Work cooperatively with the individuals receiving services, co-workers, supervisors, and people in the community to ensure that all services are coordinated to benefit the individual.

Description

The Residential Coordinator, in collaboration with the Director of Residential Services, provides operational oversight of assigned residential house locations. This includes the development and implementation of all program curricula and activities within program building and in the community to meet the needs, choices, and interests of the individuals supported in the program. The Residential Coordinator will work with appropriate parties to ensure required documentation and forms are completed for files and billing, ensuring effective fiscal management as well as the supervision of direct support professionals working in the program.

Helton House provides support to adults with disabilities and the mission of the programs are to provide skill building, safety supports and other person-centered support services to individuals diagnosed with mental, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. Starting salary range: $18.00 to $20.26. Actual starting pay will be based on relevant experience, education and qualifications.

Requirements
  • Associate degree in a human services related field preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience preferredComputer experience and proficiency required
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to lead a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage/prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
  • Most have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate professionally and clearly
