Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages the interviewing and hiring process for prospective residential houses.
  • Responsible for providing supervision, training, mentorship, and coaching to House Managers on required responsibilities, including the proper execution of performance reviews.
  • In conjunction with the Residential Director, works with HR/Payroll to ensure employees’ correct pay rate and hours; oversees the budgets for individual residential houses.
  • Works with House Managers to manage and supervise the daily functions of the residential houses to ensure productivity and efficiency within the Residential Program.
  • Responsible for employees’ work schedules and works with House Managers to monitor day‑to‑day work hours, including overtime.
  • Manages employee performance to ensure productivity and efficiency, recommends promotions or changes in status, establishes incentive programs, enforces the time and attendance policy and procedures, and tracks employee feedback and recommendations.
  • Works with the residential director, house managers, finance, and human resources to enforce all licensing requirements and maintain compliance in the residential houses.
  • Handles and resolves disciplinary issues, employee write‑ups, complaints, and grievances, and implements on a timely basis disciplinary procedures up to and including termination of employment.
  • Ensures Linwood’s Mission Statement is enforced in daily responsibilities, holds regular staff meetings, and ensures objective and policy implementation.
  • Ensures House Managers communicate and enforce the Residential Director’s directives, including rapid response by the Director and other Department Heads.
  • Participates in all necessary meetings to achieve programmatic and regulatory compliance, including house manager meetings, bi‑weekly house meetings, person‑centered planning meetings (PCP), and other required meetings.
  • Ensures PCP plans are implemented with integrity by all residential staff and that appropriate data collection occurs.
  • Coordinates with staff to communicate pertinent resident information, including medical updates, behavior updates, and critical changes in the resident’s home environment.
  • Oversees the LTSS billing for assigned residential homes, ensures service logs are completed, edits logs as needed, approves case‑managed logs, and provides House Managers training in the CIMS Data Management System.
  • Conducts regular camera checks on each house to ensure program integrity and addresses concerns immediately.
  • Conducts announced and unannounced site visits to each residential house to evaluate staff performance and program implementation, providing feedback to the Residential Director.
  • Recommends to the Residential Director to ensure staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies are appropriate and sufficient for the therapeutic and general well‑being of residents.
  • Ensures facilities and services adequately meet the physical, social, and developmental needs of all residents, protecting each resident’s health, safety, comfort, well‑being, and civil, human, and legal rights.
  • Coordinates with House Managers and the Residential Director to provide a 24‑hour manager for emergencies, consultations, and related needs.
  • Works with placement agencies to identify and enroll new students/residents.
  • Manages assembling handbooks, binders, public relations materials, new residents’ admission packets, and PCPs; coordinates and tracks PCP meetings, licensing authorities, partnering organizations, vendors, etc.
  • May perform other duties as assigned, including serving as a House Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
  • Must have at least two years of residential supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of the CIMS Data Management System is a plus.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must have a valid MD driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as defined by agency policy.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle.
  • Must pass the physical and academic portions of the behavior support and intervention training.

  • Must be able to organize and adequately provide documentation required by regulation and the agency.
  • Must demonstrate interest and ability to address the developmental and social‑emotional needs of adults with developmental disabilities.

  • Must be energetic, enthusiastic, patient, and understanding.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of fundamental rights and self‑determination and ensure that individuals receiving support are afforded these rights.
  • Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the agency’s philosophy and the ability to teach agency methods and philosophy to others.
  • Must engage professionally with agency staff, parents, school system personnel, and other professionals.
  • Must follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Regular exposure to weather conditions during travel to and from worksites and appointments.
  • Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, various forms of technology, or controls.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, run, or crawl.
  • Must be able to work under regular, moderate levels of stress.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs. regularly and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
