D.R. Horton, America's Builder, is seeking a Superintendent in Chesapeake VA to manage construction across multiple homes from permit to closing. You will schedule and supervise subcontractors, conduct homeowner walks, and ensure safety and quality per building codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2–4 years related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email; use DRH construction apps on mobile.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; budget control experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule and ensure top quality on time and within budget.
• Schedule subcontractors for each phase and ensure workmanship meets standards.
• Complete homes from planning through occupancy, meeting contract obligations.
• Inspect workmanship and halt noncompliant work; authorize payments when criteria met.
• Oversee customer experience, conduct homeowner walkthroughs, provide progress updates.
• Maintain site cleanliness and manage post-close warranty activities.
