Chrysalis House, Inc. in Baltimore offers a part-time Residential Coach position for weekend shifts (Saturday & Sunday 2pm-10pm).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of experience in residential coaching or similar setting.
• Minimum 1 year working with individuals with substance abuse.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a therapeutic, welcoming residential environment during shift.
• Adhere to Residential Manual, CARF standards and Chrysalis House policy.
• Ensure client safety at all times.
• Plan and monitor client recreational activities, calls, visitors.
• Mentor clients, explain boundaries, house rules and operations.
• Transport clients as needed.
• Maintain chemical, mileage and inventory logs for the shift.
• Document, report and follow up on situations or emergencies.
• Oversee client location and whereabouts.
• Be available for on-call and holiday/overnight/weekend coverage.
• Other duties as assigned.

RESIDENTIAL COACH - Part-Time (Saturday & Sunday 2pm-10pm)

SUMMARY:

The Residential Coach has compassion and empathy for our vulnerable population and adheresto the holistic and therapeutic approach while overseeing duties related to the functioning of ourresidential program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for maintaining a therapeutic and welcoming residential environment during assignedshift.
• Adheres to program rules in accordance to the Residential Manual, CARF standards and Chrysalis House’s policy and procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring the safety of our clients at all times.
• Plans and monitors client recreational activities, phone calls, visitors, etc.
• Responsible for mentoring clients - explaining client boundaries, house rules and houseoperations while maintaining boundaries.
• Responsible for transporting clients as needed.
• Maintains chemical log, vehicle mileage log, and inventory logs for respective shift.
• Responsible for the documentation, reporting, and follow up for any situation oremergency.
• Oversight and client location management, ensuring client whereabouts.
• Must be available to work on call when required.
• In order to maintain 24-hour facility supervision, may be scheduled to work holidays, and/orprovide additional coverage during inclement weather, overnights, or weekends.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• A High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience as Residential Coach or working in a residential setting
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with varying forms of substancesabuse

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must demonstrate understanding of special treatment needs of women with substance abuse in a residential treatment setting and show evidence of empathy, sensitivity, and maturity.
• Must demonstrate highest professional ethical standards and adhere to Chrysalis House Core Values and Code of Ethics.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
