Job Description:
The Clinician will provide individual and family therapy to all Community Diversion residents using Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Their primary responsibility is to maintain or re-establish family connections and address family conflict as appropriate; assess client and family needs, develop treatment plans, make appropriate connections to aftercare services in conjunction with the Case Manager, monitor progress, communicate closely with all members of treatment team, and deliver appropriate interventions as indicated by treatment plan. Coordinate home passes for child and family as treatment progresses and child moves towards discharge. Inform all aftercare referrals based on clinical findings.
- Work with the child’s treatment team to identify and prioritize needs and develop an individualized treatment plan as well as provide solution-focused interventions
- Plan and facilitate the monthly treatment team meeting (every 30 day review) virtual and/or in person
- Administer the Short-Term Assessment for Risk and Treatability: Adolescent Version (START: AV) to identify youth risk areas and protective factors that will guide treatment planning and goal setting
- Administer additional screenings and assessments for treatment planning purposes: Youth Screening Instrument (MAYSI), Child and Adolescent Trauma Screen (CATS) and Inventory of Callous and Unemotional Traits (ICU)
- Become trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and support learning skills, coaching, and mindfulness amongst milieu staff
- Implement additional services and/or identify additional needs of the adolescent ahead of discharge planning
- Conduct weekly individual and family sessions (in program and in youth’s community or at their home)
- Complete Behavior Chain Analysis (BCAs), support the Egregious Behavior Protocol (EBP) and offer mental health consultation to program staff
- Provide transportation as needed and appropriate (e.g., home family sessions, court hearings)
- Input all clinical documentation into the ECR as well data into CDCS within timelines outlined by CSSD

Qualifications & Requirements::
- Master’s Degree and appropriate Licensure (LCSW/LMFT/LPC), provisional license required; full licensure preferred
- Experience working with at-risk or court-involved adolescents – Required
- Knowledge of strengths-based and trauma sensitive programming – Preferred
- Valid driver’s license and no traffic violations on record as driving to conduct family sessions in the community is an expectation of the job – Required
- Excellent documentation and writing skills – Required
- On-call availability (at minimum once a week per month; in a rotation with other team members) – Required
- Strong professional verbal communication and written skills – Required
Schedule & Rate of Pay:
- Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm or 9:00am-5:00pm
- Must be flexible- evenings and/ or weekends availability if needed for clinical sessions and to accommodate family schedules and/or clinical emergencies
- Total of 35 hours per week – Salary paying position
- $65,000 to $72,000 per year based on licensure, completed education, skills and qualifications (such as being able to fluently speak Spanish)
