Job summary

Waste Pro USA Inc. is hiring energetic CDL drivers for our K & S location in North Charlotte. The Residential Driver operates refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned routes, supervising helpers, performing pre-trip and post-trip checks, and ensuring timely service to customers.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state where the position works and a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of DOT/state requirements for CMVs.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors, understand highway and traffic signals, and be able to make legible entries on paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives truck on pre-established route in accordance with Decision Driving principles; collects and dumps garbage on a residential route.
• Provides Distinguishably Different level of service through courteous customer service.
• Ensures garbage and recyclables are picked up and transferred properly; handles back door pickups if required.
• Performs Daily Pre and Post Trip inspections and completes safety checks per company guidelines.
• Maintains a clean truck and washes exterior weekly; inspects under hood and under carriage.
• Performs manual duties in cleanup of scattered refuse and assists on route.
• Prepares and submits required reports and documents.
• Responsible for all persons on the vehicle during the route.
• Complies with DOT and state requirements for CMVs.
• May be required to work during emergency situations.
