Job summary

Amwaste is seeking a reliable cart delivery driver to support its Residential line in Birmingham, AL. The role involves managing garbage cart inventory, making deliveries, swapping damaged containers, and collecting carts from cancelled accounts.

You will be expected to provide courteous service and adhere to safety standards during daily operations. Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, following routes, interacting with customers and dispatchers, and completing required reports to

Qualifications

• No experience required but two years of prior experience driving trucks.
• Clean MVR.
• 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate the truck along the designated route; read route sheets and service each customer as assigned.
• Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure routes are serviced timely and professionally.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per procedures.
• Monitor the vehicle condition to keep it operational and minimize downtime.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, DVIR and other reports as required.
• Maintain adherence to productivity standards to service customers efficiently.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
