Job summary

Skillforce is hiring a Residential Carpenter Helper to support carpenters on a private residential job site in Wake, Virginia. You will measure, cut, and fasten materials, read a tape measure, and operate power tools safely.

This on-site role offers Monday–Friday day shifts, eight-hour days, weekly pay via direct deposit, and benefits including medical, dental, and vision, PTO and holidays, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as carpenter helper or similar hands-on role.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools; able to read a tape measure to 1/16 in.
• Bring your own basic hand tools (tape measure, hammer, utility knife).
• Reliable transportation to a rural Wake, Virginia job site.
• Able to lift and carry lumber and materials.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, and fastening materials on a private residential site.
• Read a tape measure accurately and mark cuts per lead carpenter's measurements.
• Operate company tools (circular saw, miter saw, drills) safely.
• Move lumber and materials around the site and keep supplies organized.
• Set up tools and materials at shift start and tidy up at end of day.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety directions.
