Job summary

Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute in Galveston, TX, seeks a Program Assistant to provide 24-hour supervision and care in the residential area. You will observe and document patient behavior, assist with ADLs, and reinforce treatment plans while maintaining confidentiality.

The role supports therapy staff and maintains meticulous logs and safety standards. You will work to ensure patient safety, participate in daily documentation, and discharge duties per Moody policy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prefer at least two years' experience in Residential Behavioral Rehabilitation Program, or 1-2 years experience with disabled population.
• Hold current CPR and first aid certifications.
• Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI).
• Current/valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Observe, monitor, intervene, document, and report patient's social and interpersonal behavior and functional ability in the community setting.
• Carry out therapeutic activities as designed by clinical staff or Case Manager.
• Implement behavior management programs including the levels system.
• Assist in emergency situations including fire drills and first aid.
• Monitor patient self-administration of medications and document on medication sheet.
• Transport patients to and from appointments, work, field trips, recreation activities.
• Provide transportation, observation, and documentation of responses on ADL outings.
• Assist therapies upon request including water therapy.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records including seizure reports, ADL check sheets, medication sheets, shift change reports, critical incident reports.
• Discharge duties in accordance with Moody policy and accrediting bodies.
