Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2+ years in Human Services preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related Human Services area preferred.
• Demonstrate organizational ability, experience and ability to communicate effectively with persons with developmental disabilities.
• Willingness to learn about current issues in developmental disabilities.
• Ability to communicate with people at various ability levels.
• Ability to implement programs and services to enhance learning.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing learning environment and develop strategies to help clients cope with daily living.
• Lift and transfer up to 70–75 lbs; work indoors and outdoors.
• Utilize approved protective holds to ensure safety of clients and staff.
• Record progress and barriers; follow and document Individual/Follow-Along Plans.
• Administer medication when certified and report errors promptly.
• Plan, purchase and prepare meals within budget; follow dietary plans.
• Maintain house, properties and vehicle; report repairs promptly.
• Participate in trainings and maintain required certifications.
• Manage petty cash and client funds with accurate record keeping.
• Ensure privacy and confidentiality as per policies.

Education
