Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to help residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities live fulfilling, independent lives. You will provide compassionate, personalized care, implement care plans, assist with daily living tasks, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support overall well-being.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and clearances.

Qualifications

• Minimum required education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver license and access to transportation.
• Background clearances (Act 33/34/73) and pre-employment drug screen, physical/TB.
• Must complete Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, person-centered care to residents.
• Assist with activities of daily living and support independence.
• Implement behavioral support plans in collaboration with the care team.
• Facilitate community engagement, activities, and social events.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and communicate progress and needs.
