Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live fulfilling, independent lives. You will provide compassionate, person-centered care and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support daily living and community participation.

This role focuses on building individualized care plans, promoting safety, and helping residents with daily tasks, transportation, and social engagement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver License and ability to drive an organization vehicle.
• Access to transportation travel locally.
• Act 33/34/73 Clearances.
• Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Physical/TB.
• Must successfully pass Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Individualized care: develop and implement care plans tailored to residents.
• Daily living assistance: help with hygiene, meals, medication, and daily tasks.
• Behavioral support: implement behavioral plans with positive reinforcement.
• Community integration: organize and participate in recreational activities and outings.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration: work with healthcare professionals and staff to provide holistic care.
