Job summary

Related is seeking a Local 808 Union Porter to maintain clean, welcoming spaces in the Manhattan Plaza community. Under supervision, you will keep common areas sanitary and safe, supporting a resident-focused environment.

You will interact with residents, perform light maintenance tasks, restock supplies, and assist with seasonal upkeep. This role requires 1–2 years of janitorial experience and a reliable, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of janitorial, cleaning, or porter experience in residential or commercial settings.
• Required 90-Day Training Schedule: First 30 days: M–F, 7:30a–4p; 2nd 30 days: 7:30a–4p with a mix of weekday & weekend shifts (TBD); final 30 days: M–F, 3:30p–12a.
• After training, maintenance team members must be available for shifts scheduled any day M–Su.
• Basic knowledge of light maintenance tasks is a plus.
• Snow removal and landscaping experience a plus.
• Comfortable working with and around cleaning agents and equipment.
• Ability to complete daily assignments with minimal supervision.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation required.

• Willingness to embrace feedback and continuously improve.
• Strong belief in the value of teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Complete requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.
• Clean and maintain all common areas, including front lobby, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairways, and parking areas.
• Maintain floors, vacuum carpets and rugs, wash and wax hard surfaces, and clean tile grout.
• Wash walls, doors, and windows in shared areas.
• Replace light bulbs in common area lighting fixtures as needed.
• Ensure all trash receptacles are emptied and waste is transported to the designated disposal area.
• Monitor and restock sanitary and cleaning supplies to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Assist with light maintenance duties such as replacing air filters, minor touch-ups, and basic repairs.
• Support seasonal upkeep tasks, including snow removal and grounds maintenance.
• Assist in inventory control of janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the community with a positive and courteous attitude.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
