Related Affordable Housing is seeking a Local 808 Union Porter for the Manhattan Plaza community in New York City. Under the Maintenance Supervisor, you will keep common areas clean and safe, contributing to a welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

With 1–2 years janitorial experience, you will perform daily duties, restock supplies, assist with basic repairs, and support seasonal tasks like snow removal. Training over 90 days; flexible shifts; reliable transportation required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years janitorial, cleaning, or porter experience in residential or commercial settings.
• Applicable 90-day training schedule with shift variations.
• Basic light maintenance knowledge is a plus.
• Snow removal and landscaping experience a plus.
• Comfortable with cleaning agents and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Complete requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to meet needs.
• Clean and maintain all common areas, including lobby, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairways, and parking areas.
• Maintain floors, vacuum carpets and rugs, wash and wax hard surfaces, and clean tile grout.
• Wash walls, doors, and windows in shared areas.
• Replace light bulbs in common area lighting fixtures as needed.
• Ensure all trash receptacles are emptied and waste is transported to the designated disposal area.
• Monitor and restock sanitary and cleaning supplies to maintain inventory levels.
• Assist with light maintenance duties such as replacing air filters and basic repairs.
• Support seasonal upkeep tasks, including snow removal and grounds maintenance.
• Assist in inventory control of janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the community with a positive attitude.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
