Job summary

Cox Communications, Inc. is hiring a Residential Broadband Technician in Scottsdale, AZ. You will connect customers to broadband and voice services, install, repair, and support residential products while delivering friendly service.

Responsibilities include installing, disconnecting, troubleshooting, coordinating with CommCenter, and educating customers on service options to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. The role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to lift equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED; post-high-school education is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a related field; one year of health-related experience.
  • At least one year of direct customer service experience.
  • Valid state driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Travel and work during business needs.
  • Preferred: 5+ years in-service installation and repair in telecommunications or similar environment.
  • Spanish proficiency desirable in some locations.

  • Drive company vehicle safely between office/warehouse and work sites.

  • Ensure quality of services meets or exceeds industry and company performance standards.

  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping of transactions.

Job Overview

We’re hiring a Residential Broadband Technician to focus on connecting residential customers to services worldwide. You will install, repair, and support residential broadband products and services.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly base pay ranges from $22.02 to $33.08 per hour, with a starting rate of $24.23 for new hires. Position may be eligible for commission, bonuses, and incentive programs.   • Physical ability to use tools and equipment, lift up to 500 lbs, and perform ladder work.
  • Proficiency with PCs and Windows software.
  • Stable work history and ability to work required shifts and overtime.

  • Preferred: 5+ years in-service installation and repair in telecommunications or similar environment.
  • Spanish proficiency desirable in some locations.
Physical Requirements

Ability to carry and use tools and equipment, distinguish different colors of wire, bend, stoop, crawl, and work in high places. Maximum weight capacity for ladder work is 375 lbs (incl. body weight, tools, PPE). Must be able to lift up to 68 lbs, climb ladders, work in crawl spaces, attics, and outdoors in extreme weather and varied locations.

Benefits Summary
