Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks a Residential Belonging Assistant for University Housing in Athens Area. This 20-hour per week position supports community building, social awareness and administrative tasks within Housing-Resident Progs & Srvcs. You must be enrolled as a full-time student and live on campus as assigned.

Ideal candidates will collaborate with campus partners, engage residents, and participate in trainings and staff meetings to foster belonging and inclusive campus life.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Georgia and carry no more than 18 hours per semester during employment.
• Live on campus in a space assigned by University Housing.
• Maintain a minimum semester and cumulative GPA of 2.75 during employment.

Responsibilities

• Foster belonging and inclusion through residential curriculum strategies.
• Collaborate with campus partners to provide educational opportunities for residents.
• Collaborate with staff in the residence halls to identify community needs and trends.
• Create rapport with residents by being visible in residential communities.
• Connect residents to campus resources that promote a sense of belonging.
• Facilitate conversations about identities, perspectives and worldviews.
• Create welcoming environments that support all students.
• Promote and participate in cultural events; celebrate heritage months.
• Complete administrative tasks thoroughly and on time.
• Report incidents and policy violations through the appropriate system; meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with staff, residents and campus partners; attend scheduled meetings and trainings.
