Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers is expanding with a new residential facility in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and seeks a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join the founding team. You will help ensure patient safety, support recovery, and engage patients throughout shifts in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes crisis response, patient monitoring, and collaboration with nursing, clinical, and operations staff. On-site, part-time with full benefits for team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to stay professional, empathetic, and composed in high-stress or crisis situations.
• Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
• If driving duties are assigned: valid driver’s license and Banyan’s Driver criteria.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patients and living areas; perform scheduled safety checks.
• Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and suicide-safety procedures.
• Call nursing staff for medical attention and report concerns to the treatment team.
• Offer emotional support and document patient behavior accurately.
• Take vital signs and perform urine drug screens per policy.
• Supervise medication administration and coordinate activities and transport as needed.
