Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory seeks a Behavioral Health Associate for the Residential Program in Anchorage, AK. You will support clinical staff by supervising client activities, conducting intakes, and documenting in the Intergy EHR, while assisting with scheduling and education.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires at least a high school diploma, plus relevant experience in substance abuse or homelessness settings; Alaska Counselor Technician certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Alaska Counselor Technician certificate preferred.
• One year or more experience in substance abuse, homelessness, or related field preferred.
• One year clerical and data entry experience; proficient with Microsoft Office, health databases, and report-generating programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintains internal program statistics and records; enters data into EHRs and other databases; conducts client intakes and orientation groups.
• Supervises clients' activities and chores; assists with scheduling; transports clients on approved passes.
• De-escalates clients in emergencies and contacts supervisor or counselor as needed.
• Performs client education, presentations, and group discussions; supports recovery living skills groups.
