Job summary

Burke in Jasper, TX is seeking a Residential Assistant (RA) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. You will assist with daily living activities, provide active treatment, and help maintain a safe, home-like environment.

Candidates must have a high school diploma, a Texas driver’s license, and the ability to complete required trainings including SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and Van Driving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver's license.
• Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
• Ability to complete required training (SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving).
• Ability to work a rotating schedule including day, evening, and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, supervision, and support with day-to-day living activities.
• Provide active treatment and scheduled active treatment training.
• Promote a positive, safe, and home-like environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the group home.
• Complete daily documentation, including active treatment data, activity notes, medication inventory records, and progress reports.
• Complete additional documentation as needed.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals supporting individuals in the home.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Location: Kirbyville Group Home - Jasper, TX
Position Number: P#770
Compensation: $30,850 annually
Work Schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off, working a rotation of all three shifts: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

About the Role

The Residential Assistant (RA) provides guidance and care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in a residential setting. This position supports individuals with day-to-day living activities, provides active treatment training, and helps maintain a safe, positive, and home-like environment.

The Residential Assistant works closely with other professionals and is responsible for ensuring the group home remains safe and clean in accordance with Life Safety and Health standards.

What You'll Do

• Provide guidance, supervision, and support with day-to-day living activities.
• Provide active treatment and scheduled active treatment training.

• Ability to successfully complete required training, including Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and required training modules.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes day, evening, and overnight shifts.

Preferred

• Six (6) months of experience working with individuals in a direct care role.

Physical Requirements

This position requires sight, hearing, talking, walking, driving a vehicle, and sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform job duties. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
