Job summary

Burke is seeking a Part-Time Residential Assistant to provide training, care, and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an ICF/IDD group home setting in Texas. The role focuses on creating a safe, home-like environment while assisting with daily living activities.

You will document services, collaborate with professionals, and help maintain the group home. Training including SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and Van Driving is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license is required.
• Reliable transportation and a driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements are needed.
• Ability to document services and maintain detailed records is essential.
• Willingness to complete training including SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and Van Driving.

About the Role

The Part-Time Residential Assistant (RA) provides training, care, and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in an ICF/IDD group home setting. This position helps create a safe, positive, and home-like environment while supporting individuals with day-to-day living activities.

The Residential Assistant works closely with other professionals, completes required documentation, and assists with maintaining the group home and supporting the needs of the individuals who live there.

What You'll Do

What You Need

• Ability to appropriately document services and maintain detailed records.
• Ability to successfully complete required training, including Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and required training modules.

Preferred

• Six (6) months of experience working with individuals in a direct care role.

Physical Requirements

This position requires sight, hearing, talking, walking, driving a vehicle, and sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform job duties. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
