Job summary

Pfeffer Torode Architecture seeks experienced residential interior designers with strong design and communication skills to participate in all aspects of the design process. The role involves working within a project team, under a Senior Designer, and includes management and production across project phases.

Openings are in the Nashville and Birmingham offices on the residential team; candidates should have 3–5 years’ experience and a degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Interior Architecture or Interior Design.
• 3-5 years of professional experience.
• Strong conceptual and spatial design abilities.
• Experience with interior detailing and construction documents.
• Experience presenting drawings and diagrams to teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-level presentation drawings and diagrams.
• Produce detailed construction documents.
• Participate in all design phases and collaborate with Senior Designer.
• Manage and contribute to project production and coordination.

Job description

Pfeffer Torode, an award-winning architecture and design firm, provides distinctive design solutions in response to project-specific aspirations for a wide range of commercial and residential project types. Pfeffer Torode maintains offices in Nashville, Tennessee as well as Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama. Our work, concentrated in the Southeast, also spans across the country and abroad.

We are seeking experienced residential interior designerswith strong design and communication skills and a willingness to participate in all aspects of the design process. Successful candidates should possess keen spatial understanding, particular care to details, and a drive to positively contribute to the built environment. Working within a project team the successful candidate would be responsible for tasks and assignments within project parameters and under the supervision of a Senior Designer. This includes management and production throughout all project phases. Openings are currently in our Nashville office and in our Birmingham officeon our residential team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design,
• 3-5 years of professional experience,
• Strong conceptual & spatial design abilities, (as should be apparent in work sample/portfolio submission)
• Working knowledge of interior detailing,
• Developed knowledge of furniture and finish selections,
• Experience and ability to produce high level presentation drawings and diagrams,
• Experience and ability to produce detailed and high level construction documents,
• Effective communication, both written and graphic, with the design team, trade partners, and clients,
• High-degree of self-motivation and resourcefulness,
• Desire and willingness to collaborate in a fast-paced, design-forward environment,
• Proficiency in industry standard software and creative software including:
  • 2-D CAD Software: AutoCAD
  • 3-D Modeling: SketchUp or Rhino
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Microsoft Office Suite
