Job summary

Pfeffer Torode Architecture is seeking an experienced residential interior designer to join our Nashville/Birmingham based team. You will contribute to all design phases from concept to construction documents.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience, strong spatial design skills, proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp or Rhino, and experience with furniture and finishes. You will collaborate closely with the senior designer and clients on a fast-paced, design-forward residential practice.

Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design.
• 3-5 years of professional experience.
• Strong conceptual & spatial design abilities.
• Working knowledge of interior detailing.
• Experience with furniture and finish selections.
• Ability to produce high level presentation drawings and diagrams.
• Ability to produce detailed and high level construction documents.
• Effective written and graphic communication with design team, trades, and clients.
• Self-motivation and resourcefulness; collaborative in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Pfeffer Torode, an award-winning architecture and design firm, provides distinctive design solutions in response to project-specific aspirations for a wide range of commercial and residential project types. Pfeffer Torode maintains offices in Nashville, Tennessee as well as Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama. Our work, concentrated in the Southeast, also spans across the country and abroad.

We are seeking experienced residential interior designers with strong design and communication skills and a willingness to participate in all aspects of the design process. Successful candidates should possess keen spatial understanding, particular care to details, and a drive to positively contribute to the built environment.

Working within a project team the successful candidate would be responsible for tasks and assignments within project parameters and under the supervision of a Senior Designer. This includes management and production throughout all project phases.

Openings are currently in our Nashville office and in our Birmingham office on our residential team.
