$19.23/hr - $19.23/hr

Position Details

Title: Residential Aide – Tier I

Location: Bronx, New York

FLSA Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt

This position is non-exempt because the primary duties do not require advanced knowledge in a specialized field.

Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Residential Aide to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of staff and clients. The Residential Aide will maintain a secure environment by enforcing house rules and operational procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor clients, units, dorms, and facilities for safety and security.
  • Enforce shelter policies and procedures.
  • Maintain communication logs and document resident activities.
  • Assist clients with questions and resolve issues.
  • Inspect items entering the facility for safety.
  • Monitor video footage of common areas.
  • Follow safety, health, and fire guidelines.
  • Conduct hourly rounds of the facility.
  • Report safety hazards promptly.
  • Collaborate with security personnel.
  • Prepare units for vacancies and document incidents.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel to multiple NYC sites.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and walking.
  • Climb stairs.
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Office setting with computer use and moderate noise.
  • Shift work including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Authorized to remain at assigned posts.
Qualifications
  • NYC Security License (preferred).
  • F-02 Certificate of Fitness.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Food handler certificate (NYC/NYS).
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Experience in residential facilities (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of HIPAA.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • High standards and good judgment.
  • Ability to assess emergency situations.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Pass drug screening.
  • Subject to background checks.
