Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Aide to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of staff and clients. The role involves maintaining a secure environment by enforcing house rules and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
- Monitor clients, units, dorms, and facilities for safety and security.
- Enforce shelter policies and follow procedures.
- Maintain communication logs and document resident activities.
- Assist clients with questions and issues.
- Inspect items entering the facility for safety.
- Monitor video footage of common areas.
- Adhere to safety, health, and fire guidelines.
- Conduct hourly rounds of the facility.
- Report safety hazards promptly.
- Collaborate with security personnel.
- Prepare units for vacancies, including cleaning and tagging belongings.
- Document incident details accurately.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical and Schedule Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Lift up to 25 pounds.
- Travel to multiple NYC sites as needed.
- Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and walking.
- Ability to climb stairs.
- Work in an office setting with moderate noise.
- Shift work including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Preferred NYS Security License.
- F-02 Certificate of Fitness.
- CPR / First Aid certification.
- Food handler certificate (NYC/NYS).
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Experience in residential facilities is advantageous.
- Knowledge of HIPAA standards.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Proficiency in English.
- Pass drug screening.
- Subject to background checks.
