Job description

Residential Advisor #60011167 (2nd shift)

Supervises and monitors student behavior and location, including enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct. Documents and reports student discipline, behavior, and injury problems, following up to ensure appropriate and successful student outcomes per department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include teaching students good personal hygiene, appropriate behavior, and independent living skills. Assists students in developing good study habits, helps with homework, and teaches caring for their dorm and personal areas. Supports development of acceptable work habits, dining skills, and social skills. Ensures students are properly dressed, and clothing is clean and in good repair. Maintains the safety and security of students and their environment.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent GED, plus three years of successful work experience supervising children in a caregiving capacity. Preferably, candidates will have experience with special needs children with developmental or sensory disabilities, or an Associate's Degree with one year of relevant experience. The position may require communication modalities depending on placement. Applicants must provide verification of their highest education level and any applicable licensure or certification if selected for an interview.
