Job summary

Job Title: Residential Advisor
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides residential support for individuals with intellectual disabilities in a community home setting.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with identified participants, community agencies, medical professionals, and other collaborative entities.
  • Ensures the safety, health, and well-being of individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing residential supports.
  • Provide assistance with bathing, toileting, and all aspects of hygiene.
  • Maintains a calm home environment that enables participants to live an independent life.
  • Provides support in daily living activities.
  • Implements aspects of the participant's Individualized Support Plan.
  • Creates and promotes opportunities for participants to fully achieve their goals.
  • Encourages skill development and goal attainment.
  • Participates in community activities that promote socialization for participants.
  • Provides transportation for participants to fully engage in the community.
  • Documents clearly the daily progress of participants in ALIS, and other systems: at the completion of each shift.
  • Commits to high-quality residential services for all participants.
  • Complies with all policies, procedures, and Chapter 6400 regulations.
  • Remains flexible to work rotating shifts with non-traditional hours to meet the needs of the participants.
  • Lifting, pivoting and transferring are skills required for this role.
Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or extensive experience or training on intellectual disabilities or the mental health field.

Certificates and Licenses (Preferred)
  • CPR/first aid
  • Fire safety
  • Crisis management
  • Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73

Pathways Community Living will obtain the clearances or certifications for employees to meet these requirements.
