Job summary

DaySpring of Wallace is seeking a dedicated Resident Transporter to safely transport residents to medical appointments, social outings, and other activities. You will assist residents during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort.

This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and a compassionate, customer-service oriented approach to care. Training will be provided for operating passenger vehicles, with emphasis on safety and respectful

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
• Previous experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service (preferred).
• Ability to safely operate a passenger transport vehicle (training provided).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs, including wheelchairs and walkers.

Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, social outings, and activities as directed.
• Resident Assistance: Assist residents during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure company vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained; report issues.
• Schedule Coordination: Work with staff and residents to ensure timely transportation scheduling and route planning.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols.
• Communication & Documentation: Maintain transportation logs and report incidents or concerns.
• Customer Service: Engage with residents in a friendly and professional manner during transportation.

• Safe Transportation: Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, social outings, and other activities as directed.
• Resident Assistance: Provide assistance to residents during boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure company vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained. Report any issues or concerns to management.
• Schedule Coordination: Work closely with staff and residents to ensure timely transportation scheduling and efficient route planning.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility protocols to ensure a secure and positive travel experience for residents.
• Communication & Documentation: Maintain accurate transportation logs and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Customer Service: Engage with residents in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience during transportation.
