Job summary

Accela Post Acute Care is seeking a dependable and compassionate Per Diem Driver to join our team. This role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to provide safe, reliable transportation for our residents to medical appointments and other approved destinations.

Shifts are generally 8am to 4pm, and you will work with facility staff to coordinate pickups, assist residents in and out of the vehicle, and maintain a courteous, confidential service.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Experience in professional driving or healthcare transportation.
• Experience with seniors or mobility-impaired individuals is a plus.
• Dependable, punctual, safety-conscious.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical and therapy appointments.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Provide friendly, professional, and compassionate service.
• Follow facility transportation policies and safety regulations.
• Complete transportation documentation accurately.
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Perform basic vehicle safety checks and report maintenance concerns.
• Coordinate transportation schedules with facility staff.
• Ensure residents are transported on time and returned safely to the facility.
• Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality.

As a Driver, you will play an important role in helping residents get to medical appointments, personal appointments, and other approved destinations while providing courteous, respectful service along the way.

What You'll Do as Driver

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, therapy appointments, and other approved destinations.

What We're Looking For

• Valid driver's license

• Previous professional driving or healthcare transportation experience preferred.

• Experience working with seniors or individuals with mobility limitations is a plus.

• Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.

• Patient, courteous, and comfortable interacting with residents.

• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs when appropriate.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
