Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex application and telecom issues; reproduce and document findings for engineering, support, and sales.
• Use packet capture tools (Wireshark) and networking protocols to identify irregularities and drive resolution.
• Support cloud/platform components (OpenStack, Heat, Azure AKS) and DevOps workflows (Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes).
• Investigate identity/access systems (WSO2 Identity Server, LDAP, SSO) and 5G call flows when applicable.

Our client is seeking a Resident Support Engineer to join their team. As a Resident Support Engineer, you will be part of the support organization supporting resident and customer-facing technical operations. The ideal candidate will have strong customer empathy, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

• Provide resident, client-facing technical support for Linux-based environments and related infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex application and telecommunications-related issues by reproducing reported behaviors and documenting findings for engineering, support, and sales.
• Use packet capture tools (e.g., Wireshark) and strong networking protocol knowledge (TCP/IP, UDP, TLS, SSH, RTP, SIP, HTTP, DNS, NAT, syslog) to identify irregularities and drive resolution.
• Support cloud and platform components, including OpenStack, Heat templates, and Azure AKS, while collaborating on DevOps workflows (Docker, Ansible, virtualization, Kubernetes, microservices).
• Contribute to investigations involving identity and access systems (WSO2 Identity Server, LDAP, single sign-on) and, when applicable, 5G call flows and 5GC SBI components.

What's Needed?

• 5+ years of experience in a client-facing technical role with a demonstrated history of customer focus and empathy.
• Proficiency working in Linux-based operating systems and strong scripting skills using Python and Linux Shell (BASH, CSH, SH, KSH).
• Working knowledge of OpenStack, Heat templates, and Azure AKS.
• Familiarity with SIP and IP Telephony protocols, including the ability to use packet capture tools to identify irregularities.
• Experience troubleshooting applications and telecommunications systems, including the ability to experiment, reproduce issues, and communicate outcomes effectively in an Agile / Scrum environment.
