Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a dining aide to support resident-centered care by providing meal service and assisting with housekeeping and laundry in a positive environment.

You will assist in food preparation, set up meal trays, and help residents with menu questions while following dietary needs. The role includes on-site duties and weekend work, with a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service and dining service experience preferred.
• Ability to assist with meal prep and feeding as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and food service to residents.
• Prepare and deliver food substitutions and assist with meal tray setup.
• Serve food according to portion control procedures and ensure diet preferences are followed.
• Maintain sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment, food and supplies.
• Ensure food temperatures are maintained during service and storage.
• Assist residents and staff with menu questions and concerns.
• Follow modified diets and work to support residents' nutritional wellbeing.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures including dishwashing and laundry services for residents.

Job description

This position promotes resident centered care by providing choice to residents, will provide meal service, housekeeping and laundry services in a positive and supportive environment for residents. The following job duties and responsibilities is intended to reflect the major responsibilities and essential functions of the job but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

• Assists in food preparation and food service to residents.
• Prepares and delivers food substitutions to residents as needed and assists residents in setting up meal tray as needed.
• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures responsible for ensuring diet and preferences followed
• Ensures proper sanitation and storage of kitchen equipment, food and supplies.
• Ensures that food temperatures are maintained at proper levels through service, and storage.
• Assists residents and staff with menu questions, complaints and concerns.
• Understands modified diets and is a team player in working toward resident's nutritional wellbeing.
• Carries out garbage, cleans equipment, work tables ranges, utensils, pots and pans, floors and so forth as assigned.
• May transport food carts to and from resident areas as needed.
• Performs dishwashing and cleaning procedures.
• Performs resident laundry services.
  

Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: Previous customer service and dining service experience preferred
