Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a food service setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in serving meals on a timely basis.
• Assist in daily cleaning and garbage removal to keep work areas clean and safe.
• Clean and set up trays, food carts, and the dining area as directed.
• Cook as directed and maintain proper food temperatures during preparation and service.
• Check therapeutic diet trays before distribution.
• Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
• Dishwashing and cleaning procedures; ensure utensils and dishware are ready for the next meal.
• Prepare food and supplies meals and snacks as instructed.
• Assist with inventory and storage of dietary supplies and maintain clean storage areas.
• Assist in food preparation for special events.
• Dispose of food and waste per policies.

Summary Of Duties

Provide assistance in dietary preparation and cleanup for residents and guests of the Community in accordance with applicable guidelines and regulations as well as established Organizational policies and procedures to promote quality food service.

Essential Job Functions

• Assists in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning, including carrying out garbage and keeping work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
• Cleans and sets up trays, food carts, the dining room, etc. as instructed.
• Works as a Cook as directed.
• Maintains proper temperature of food during preparation and service.
• Assists in checking therapeutic diet trays before distribution.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.
• Performs dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assure that utensils and dishware are readily available for the next meal.
• Prepares food and supplies meals.
• Prepares and delivers snacks as instructed.
• Assists in inventory and storing of dietary supplies and maintain food storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Assists in food preparation for special events.
• Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
• Makes only authorized food substitutions.
• Performs other duties as directed and assume additional responsibilities.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in a food service setting preferred.
