Resident Services Technician I (Porter) - La Maison (Education)

Essential Functions

1. Maintain the physical integrity of the community to ensure safety and comfort for residents, visitors, and staff.
2. Regularly detail the community to enhance curb appeal, including litter pickup, shrub maintenance, snow removal, and pool upkeep.
3. Assist with maintenance requests and make-ready tasks, including painting and trash removal from vacant units.
4. Keep storage areas and maintenance shops clean and organized.
5. Follow safety procedures as per OSHA and other regulations.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
7. Apply logical thinking to practical situations and follow standardized procedures, with occasional deviations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a porter or groundskeeper preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and on-call availability.

Physical Requirements

Constantly (66-100%) on your feet, performing activities like bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, grasping, and lifting supplies and equipment. Lifting over 150 pounds occasionally with assistance. Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs is essential.

Vision, Hearing, and Speaking Requirements

• Constant visual attention to areas needing maintenance or correction.
• Frequent ability to see clearly beyond arm’s reach.
• Frequent hearing to receive instructions; written instructions are also acceptable.
• Constant communication with staff and residents is required.

Working Environment

• Primarily outdoors, often in various weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to fumes and solvents during make-ready processes.
• Frequent work in confined or awkward positions.
