Position Summary
The Resident Services & Operations Coordinator is responsible for creating a welcoming, helpful, and connected
experience for residents, families, visitors, and community partners at The Commons. This person will be a familiar
and friendly presence at the front desk and will help residents navigate day-to-day needs, connect with staff and
resources, and feel comfortable and supported in their home.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is warm, organized, dependable, patient, and great with people. The right
person will enjoy being the person residents can come to with questions, while also keeping the front desk and daily
operations organized and running smoothly. As The Commons grows to serve up to 46 residents
this person will play an important role in creating a community where residents feel known, welcomed, and
connected.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Resident Support
- Serve as the welcoming face of The Commons for residents, families, visitors, service providers, and
community partners.
- Greet residents and visitors and help create a friendly, welcoming environment.
- Answer questions and help residents navigate day-to-day needs at The Commons.
- Assist residents with connecting to CCHI staff, programs, service providers, transportation, activities, and
community resources.
- Help residents communicate needs, questions, or concerns to the appropriate staff member.
- Provide a calm, patient, and supportive presence for residents who may need additional assistance.
- Maintain awareness of what is happening throughout the building and help ensure residents feel safe and
supported.
Communication & Community
- Build positive relationships with residents and get to know their individual interests, needs, and
communication styles.
- Help residents feel comfortable asking for assistance and participating in community life.
- Communicate professionally and positively with families, visitors, service providers, volunteers, and
community partners.
- Help create a culture where residents, families, and staff work together as part of the cooperative community.

- Support resident activities, meetings, events, and other opportunities that bring people together.
Building & Daily Operations
- Help keep the front desk, lobby, and common areas organized, welcoming, and running smoothly.
- Manage incoming calls, messages, deliveries, visitors, and general inquiries.
- Assist with calendars, schedules, sign-ins, notices, and other administrative tasks.
- Help coordinate building-related requests and communicate issues to the appropriate CCHI staff member.
- Maintain accurate information and documentation as needed.
- Assist with emergency procedures and follow CCHI safety and building protocols.
- Work with CCHI and building partners to address day-to-day operational needs.
Team & Family Collaboration
- Work closely with the Resident Experience Manager and CCHI to support residents and daily operations.
- Communicate important resident needs, concerns, and building issues to the appropriate staff.
- Work collaboratively with service providers, volunteers, and community partners.
- Maintain open and positive communication with families while keeping residents at the center of the work.
- Support the Programming Lead and other staff with activities and special events when needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Services, Social Work, Community Development, Special Education,
Hospitality, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience working with adults with disabilities, older adults, community programs, residential
communities, hospitality, customer service, or a related field.
- Experience working directly with people who have different abilities, communication styles, and support
needs.
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
- Warm, patient, friendly, and comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and changing priorities throughout the day.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Comfortable using email, calendars, basic office technology, and other systems needed to support daily
operations.
- Dependable, responsible, and comfortable being a consistent presence for residents.
- A genuine interest in helping adults with disabilities build independence, friendships, and meaningful lives in
their community.
- Comfortable working independently in a small, growing organization where things move quickly and no two
days are exactly alike.
