Job summary

Lifespace Communities in Delray Beach, FL, is seeking a part-time Safety and Security Officer to patrol the property, conduct drills, keep logs, and ensure life-safety systems are functional. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years of relevant experience, and a valid driver's license. Background screening is required under Florida law.

Qualifications

• Two to three years applicable experience.
• A state issued driver’s license with a clean driving record as defined by insurance mandates.
• Background screening as per Florida law will be required.

Responsibilities

• Make scheduled rounds inside and outside of the building to maintain a secure environment.
• Schedule and ensure all fire and disaster drills are conducted for each shift and maintain detailed logs.
• Maintain security records including safety inspections and equipment repairs; verify safety equipment is operational.
• Respond to fire alarms and emergency calls and notify appropriate team members.
• Maintain working knowledge of life safety systems.
• Keep daily guard shift reports with clear, accurate notes of occurrences.
• Control entry/exit for guests, team members, residents and vendors with proper identification.
• Perform light maintenance tasks as needed (bulbs, unclogging toilets, drains).
• Transport residents or team members on/off property as needed.
• Deliver packages and distribute internal mail.
• Greet residents and guests, assist with luggage and vehicle parking.
