Job summary

Rolling Hills Developmental Center in Mississippi is seeking a Recreation Assistant/Aide to help plan, develop and run the facility's Recreation/Activity Program, ensuring residents' emotional, recreational and social needs are addressed.

You will assess resident interests, build daily programs, coordinate community activities, maintain records and work with the Interdisciplinary Team to meet regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents to determine interests related to recreational activities.
• Develop daily in-house and community programs addressing assessed interests.
• Maximize participation of residents in community resources and events.
• Develop, implement and monitor written program plans for individuals per Interdisciplinary Teams.
• Maintain participation records for each individual served.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team processes.
• Purchase, inventory and catalog recreational equipment within budget and keep records.
• Train staff responsible for implementing recreational activities.
• Monitor programs to ensure they are executed as planned.
