Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Resident Project Representative II to interpret drawings, track daily field activities, and ensure contract compliance on a full-time basis at the Hannibal, OH site.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential to coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and the client team. The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or related field, 5+ years of multidisciplinary construction experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Primavera.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active participant in our employee-owned culture; sponsorship for US employment is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; identify discrepancies or conflicts.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor's activities, labor, equipment and materials.
  • Review construction materials for contract compliance.
  • Track quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance.
  • Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings.
  • Observe installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems.
  • Develop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance; assist with project audit/closeout.
  • Supervise junior staff and subconsultants; work under general supervision.

In the role of Resident Project Representative II, we'll count on you to:
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
  • Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor's daily activities and the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials used
  • Review construction materials for Contract compliance
  • Track quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance
  • Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings
  • Conduct observations of the installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems
  • Identify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until corrected
  • Develop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance
  • Assist with project audit/closeout
  • Work under general supervision of a Design Project Manager
  • Supervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants
  • Must be able to work full time at our client's site in Hannibal, OH.
  • Valid Driver's License required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
  • Previous data center experience
  • MEP experience
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • Ability to problem solve and provide possible solutions to the engineer
Required Qualifications
