Job summary

HDR is seeking a Resident Project Representative II for on-site work in Hannibal, OH. You will read construction drawings, monitor contractor activities, track quantities, and support project QA/QC and closeout.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction, at least 5 years of multidisciplinary construction experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
• Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Must be able to work on-site in Hannibal, OH and have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specs, flag discrepancies
• Maintain daily records of contractor activities, labor, equipment, and materials
• Review materials for contract compliance
• Develop pay estimates and track quantities
• Attend and chair construction progress meetings
• Conduct observations of installation and acceptance testing
• Identify nonconforming work, develop punch lists and track to resolution
• Develop record docs for engineer review/acceptance
• Assist with project audits/closeout
• Supervise junior Resident Project Representatives and inspectors

In the role of Resident Project Representative II, we'll count on you to:

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
• Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor's daily activities and the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials used
• Review construction materials for Contract compliance
• Track quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance
• Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings
• Conduct observations of the installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems
• Identify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until corrected
• Develop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance
• Assist with project audit/closeout
• Work under general supervision of a Design Project Manager
• Supervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants
• Must be able to work full time at our client's site in Hannibal, OH.
• Valid Driver's License required

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
• MEP experience
• Ability to interpret construction schedules
• Ability to problem solve and provide possible solutions to the engineer

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
• A minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
• Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
• Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
• Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position
