Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a skilled On-site AGV Technician to support deployment, configuration, and testing of new environments in hospital settings. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair fleet systems, and assist with upgrades while coordinating closely with the on-site senior technician and customer leads.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Electronics Technology and 3–5 years of AGV experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent.
• 3–5 years' experience and in-depth technical knowledge of AGV product lines.
• Familiarity with electronic diagnostic and repair tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron and basic electronics hand-tools.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and test new environment in a hospital setting with the JBT vehicle project team.
• Perform preventive maintenance and on-call maintenance for the AGV fleet.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle and vehicle/system issues.
• Assist upgrades/retrofits requiring vehicle modifications.
• Assist with AGV component repairs when needed.
• Monitor and maintain on-site parts inventory and orders.
• Provide operations support for new/modified systems and start-ups.
• Collaborate with Customer AGV Leads for training and troubleshooting.
• Provide on-call support for critical outages.

On a given day, you may:

• Partner with the JBT vehicle project team in the deployment, configuration, and testing of a new environment in a hospital environment.
• Once the AGV fleet is live and supporting production, perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance services as well as on-call maintenance for the fleet.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle and vehicle/system related issues
• Assist in upgrades/retrofits requiring vehicle modifications
• Assist with AGV component repairs when/if necessary
• Monitor and maintain on-site parts inventory and parts orders
• Provide AGV systems operations support for new / modified systems and start-ups
• Work closely with the full-time On-site Senior Technician to assist in troubleshooting and resolving AGV system issues.
• Work closely with Customer AGV Leads as it relates to training, troubleshooting, and meetings as needed.
• Provide on call support for critical business impacting outages

The incumbent must stay current with the latest designs, features and equipment that JBT Automated Systems offers. The organization's matrix environment requires tact, diplomacy and strong prioritization skills to accomplish the numerous, often conflicting, daily support requirements.

The incumbent needs to be able to respond to emergency situations which may require frequent schedule changes/adjustments based on the customer's needs with minimal time to prepare.

The incumbent has the latitude to make significant software and hardware adjustments to the JBT installed system to satisfy the customers' needs. It is then the responsibility of the incumbent to record these changes for permanent documentation at the JBT home-office.

The incumbent will be responsible to self-manage his/her day-today activities and will report locally to our customer representative/system owner

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A.S.) in Electronics Technology or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Three to five years' experience and in-depth technical knowledge of AGV product lines. Familiarity with electronic diagnostic and repair tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron and basic electronics hand-tools.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and JBT employees.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Competencies

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. This position also requires the following computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, SQL, and Syteline or a comparable MRP business system.

The estimated hourly range for this role is $34.00 - $38.00. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
