Job summary

Eskaton seeks a Resident Medication Assistant (RMA) to help residents self-administer medications under supervision. You will operate within RCFE standards and Eskaton policies, ensuring safety and compassionate care. This is a day shift role that includes weekends and requires training in medication administration.

The position emphasizes companionshi p, basic medical support, and collaboration with care teams to maintain residents’ quality of life and independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Medication administration training (8 hours) and passing grade of 85% or better.
• 8 hours medication administration shadowing with Trainer.
• 4 hours of continuing education on medication administration annually.
• Proficient ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide companion care per resident's plan of care.
• Assist with bathing or showering for hygiene.
• Make beds and keep resident care area organized.
• Assist with dressing while respecting privacy.
• Prepare light meals as directed by the resident's plan of care.
• Schedule medical appointments and may accompany residents to appointments.
• Promote independence and safety in resident care.
• Assist with exercises and mobility as directed by nurse or therapist.
• Assist with medication self-administration after training.
• Collect specimens as directed by staff.
• Assist with dining or delivering meal trays.
