Job summary

Health First in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care, coordinate with the care team, and support discharge planning. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient and family engagement, and collaboration across disciplines to ensure optimal outcomes.

The RN will rely on strong clinical assessment, EMR proficiency, and adherence to safety protocols, while participating in ongoing quality improvement and staff mentoring.

Qualifications

• Education: ASN or Nursing Diploma.
• Florida RN licensure or endorsement.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider required before start date.
• Additional unit-specific certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and effective nursing care based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs across the care continuum.
• Administers medications, perform treatments, and document care activities in accordance with Health First’s policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, participate in rounds, and support discharge planning.
• Applies critical thinking to promptly identify changes in patient condition and initiate the appropriate interventions.
• Educates patients and families using teach-back to promote engagement in care and safe transitions.
• Adheres to safety protocols and infection prevention practices to protect patients and Associates.
• Utilizes Health First technology systems to enter clinical documentation and care plans.
• Participates in quality improvement, patient safety, and High Reliability Organization (HRO) initiatives.
• Supports precepting, mentoring, and onboarding of new Associates and students as appropriate.
• Promotes a culture of purpose, rounding, and communication at the bedside (e.g., whiteboard use, bedside shift report).
