Job summary

Forefront is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare meals in accordance with established health and safety standards. You will follow recipes, monitor food quality, and support dietary requirements for residents, families, and employees.

Reporting to the Chef Manager/Director, you will inspect deliveries, manage inventory, and ensure accurate portioning and presentation while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food following federal, state, and local standards; ensures patient safety by adhering to policies.
• Assists in preparation of meals for residents, families, and employees; helps with delivery and taking orders as needed.
• May be directed by the Chef Manager and/or Director.
• Follows standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards.
• Completes and utilizes daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
• Tastes completed meals to ensure quality standards.
• Monitors temperatures of hot and cold foods to meet established goals during service.
• In Chef Manager/Director absence, inspects deliveries.
• Supervises and assists in storage of supplies and food products.
• Notifies Chef Manager or Director of supplies or equipment needs.
• Reports equipment breakdowns and unsafe conditions to the Chef Manager or Director.
• Complies with health and sanitation regulations evidenced by audits.
• Performs other department duties assigned by the Chef Manager/Director.
• Adheres to policies including HR, ethics, safety, compliance, patient rights, confidentiality, and HIPAA.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Shows accountability for personal growth and required certifications.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.
