Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of institutional food preparation experience preferred.
• Current food handler’s card.

Responsibilities

• Provide food service operation.
• Properly prepare, serve, and store food in accordance with accredited agencies and department policies and procedures.
• Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation at the end of each shift.
• Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, and appropriate regulatory requirements.
• Handle all equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and demonstrate good working knowledge of equipment.
• Deliver meals and food trays to patients according to schedule established by the department.
• Understand and apply the sanitation procedures needed to provide a safe and healthy environment.
• Monitor pantry stock and inform Dietary Director of items running low and in need or re-ordering.
• Knowledge of cooking procedures.
