Job summary

• Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation at the end of each shift.
• Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, and appropriate regulatory requirements.
• Handle all equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and demonstrate good working knowledge of equipment.
• Deliver meals and food trays to patients according to schedule established by the department.
• Understand and apply the sanitation procedures needed to provide a safe and healthy environment.
• Monitor pantry stock and inform Dietary Director of items running low and in need or re-ordering.
• Knowledge of cooking procedures.

Job Location: Electra Healthcare Center - Electra, TX 76360

SCHEDULE

• Rotating weekends
• Various days
• 40 hours per week
• 10:30AM to 7:00PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

One year experience of institutional food preparation preferred.

PERSONAL JOB-RELATED SKILLS:

• Knowledge of cooking and food handling procedures.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

LICENSURE, REGISTRY, CERTIFICATIONS:

Current food handler’s card.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Duties of the position require extended periods of walking and standing.
• Some bending, stooping, and reaching for food items and equipment.
• Pushing and pulling of food carts and lifting up to 30 pounds.
• The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions and directions.
