Job summary

Aperion Care in Warren, RI is seeking a Cook responsible for food preparation in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, policies, and as directed by the Dietitian and Director of Food Services, to ensure quality food service at all times.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, developing department policies, planning regular and special diet menus, coordinating with other departments, and implementing changes per dietitian recommendations; requires 1 year of dietary/food

Qualifications

• 1 year dietary/food experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred but not required.
• Must have State Food Service Sanitation certification.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English clearly.
• Must function independently, with integrity and flexibility.
• Rotation every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to food preparation.
• Assist in developing, implementing and coordinating department policies and manuals.
• Interpret policies to residents, visitors and staff as needed.
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by physician.
• Coordinate food services with other departments and dietitian recommendations.
