Job summary

Community First Solutions in Beavercreek, OH, is seeking a kind-hearted Resident Lifestyle Assistant to join The Patterson team—a luxury assisted living and memory care community. This role supports residents with activities, social engagement, and daily life.

Qualifications

  • Education requirement: High Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1 year or less in leading and assisting activities, preferably with older adults.
  • Computer literate with basic knowledge of MS Office.
  • Excellent communication with residents, families, and staff.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and promotes activities to stimulate resident interest and wellbeing.
  • Encourages hobbies and supervises crafts in groups or individually.
  • Complies with safety regulations and policies.
  • Assists with events and helps plan decorations and gifts.
  • Encourages religious activities and spiritual development.
  • Promotes intellectual development through literature, lectures, movies, and cultural events.
  • Provides prompt responses to staff, resident, and family inquiries.
  • Familiar with OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and Exposure Control policy.
  • Helps with special events and coordinates with the Director.
  • supervises and transports residents during activities and outings.
  • Maintains activity documentation and charting as delegated by the Coordinator.
  • Carries out evening and weekend functions.
  • Prepares activity area, equipment, and supplies.
  • Orders, maintains, and stores equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities
  • Initiates and promotes a variety of activities both within and outside the facility to stimulate and promote resident interest, communication, and general wellbeing.
  • Encourages hobbies, instructs and supervises craft activities among residents, in groups or individually, in recreational areas or in residents’ rooms.
  • Complies with safety regulations and policies.
  • Assists with parties, provide games and encourages residents to assist in the planning, such as making table decorations, wrapping gifts, trimming room or area, and other similar activities.
  • Encourages residents to participate in religious activities to fulfill their basic spiritual needs, through visits with local ministers, attendance at religious services whenever possible, spiritual reading material, and others.
  • Encourages intellectual/educational development through literature, lectures, movies, cultural events, and other activities available in the community.
  • Provides prompt and accurate response to staff, resident, and family inquiries for information while always honoring confidentiality.
  • Must be familiar with OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and Company’s Exposure Control policy.
  • Assists the Director of Resident Lifestyle/Resident Lifestyle Coordinator with special events and functions.
  • Supervises and transports residents during indoor and outdoor activities and community outings.
  • Maintains resident activities documentation and charting as delegated by the Coordinator.
  • Carries out evening and weekend functions.
  • Prepares the activity area, equipment, and supplies.
  • Orders, maintains, and storages equipment and supplies
  • All other duties as assigned and/or appropriate to the position.
Qualifications
  • Education: High Diploma or GED
  • Licenses or other required certifications:
  • Experience: 1 year or less experience in leading and assisting with a variety of activities and programs, preferably with older adults
  • Computer literate and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills in working with residents, employees, families, and the public
  • Ability to be flexible, display dedication, sensitivity, patience, honesty, imagination, and resourcefulness
  • Ability to multi-task and work in an environment of changing demands and frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends
  • Must be organized and detailed oriented
  • Must have knowledge of safe operation of vehicles when transporting residents
