Job summary

A premier senior living community in Fairhope, Alabama, is seeking an Activities Coordinator. The role involves planning and implementing recreational activities for residents, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating transportation for outings. Ideal candidates should have at least three years of experience in the senior living industry, a high school diploma, and must be physically able to lift up to 25 pounds.   • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • Certified Activity Professional or equivalent preferred.

What You Will Do
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs of therapeutic recreational activities (including evening and weekend activities) for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. Ensure programming meets minimum requirements under regulations governing relevant Senior Living communities.
  • Consults with other departments in implementing appropriate activities relating to the physical, emotional and social needs of residents.
  • Assist in coordinating transportation and accompany residents on outings as scheduled.
  • Develop and post a monthly schedule of member activities by the first day of the month. Maintain a record of activities for twelve calendar months at all times. Make records available to regulatory agencies upon request.
  • Assist with the volunteer program to meet the program needs of the residents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Why You Are Qualified

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • At least three (3) years of related work experience in the senior living industry or related field required.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • Certified Activity Professional or equivalent preferred.
  • On a daily basis, throughout the workday: Must be capable of sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, turning, bending, stooping, crouching and kneeling, reaching over the head, grasping with both hands, and fine manipulation. Must physically be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
